MORE FAN QUESTIONS:
Q:  What College Football team that nobody talks about do you think
has a chance to be the surprise National Champion like Ohio State
was a few years ago?

A:  A lot of people were also surprised with Texas beating USC to
end their 34-game winning streak, too.  But both that game and when
Ohio St. ended Miami's 34-game win streak were called by yours
truly.  I'm also calling for Louisville out of the Big East to go
undefeated during the regular season.  By surprise team, I guess that
means we rule out the likes of Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma,
Texas, USC and Auburn here.  Maybe even West Virginia too
because that's the team most people are picking to win the Big East,
but keep in mind they have to travel to Papa John's Stadium this year
and shouldn't be as fortunate to rally from a double-digit half-time
deficit to the Cards this time around.  QB Brian Brohm and RB
Michael Bush are arguably the best tandem in the nation, giving
Bobby Petrino and company a chance to run the table as long as their
defense can make up for the losses of d-linemen Elvis Dumervil and
Montavious Stanley over the off-season.

Q:  I got a good one for you:  pick one college that you would take
for Men's College Basketball, Women's College Basketball and NCAA
Football?  --- Jim in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

A:  Wow!  That is a good one there Jim.  Hmm..... well I initially
thought of both North Carolina and Duke for their rich success in
college hoops and now starting to get it going on the women's side,
despite the fact Tennessee and Connecticut remain the big two.  But
neither one of them have a consistently strong football program,
Tennessee lacks a solid basketball program (although Bruce Pearl
may change that), and UCONN isn't quite there on a national scale in
football.  I guess my pick ultimately would be the University of Texas
Longhorns.  Vince Young and company are looking for a second
straight Rose Bowl appearance in football and have been a mini power
at the worst for years.  The men's basketball team has been good and
could be a Final Four squad.  And finally, Jody Conradt has won well
over 800 games in her 35+ year tenure as the Head Women's
Basketball Coach.
